Third Edition Film Festival
3rd Edition of the China Women's Film Festival
Following the first and the second China Women’s Film Festivals (CWFF), a third edition was organised from September 19th to 27th 2015 in Beijing, and in the following months in several other cities including Harbin, Changchun, Shenyang, Shanghai, Nanjing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Dalian, Tianjin, Chengdu, Ningbo, Shenyang and Xi’an. The festival again greatly increased in scale, with more than 6 000 people who attended a variety of events. More than 30 films were shown and were divided into the following units: Feminism, Ending Violence and Discrimination Against Women, Queer Women, HeForShe, Gender in Contemporary Swedish Film, and Filmmaker in Focus with Sachi Hamano. Among the guests who attended the festival are Liu Shu, Shi Tou, Jing Zhao, Zheng Ruoxing, Li Miao, Lin Danyun (Chinese filmmakers), Ye Zilin (Taiwanese filmmaker and organizer of the Taiwan Women’s Film Festival), Li Ang (Taiwanese filmmaker), Sachi Hamano (Japanese filmmaker), Kuninori Yamazaki (Japanese scriptwriter), Suzanne Osten (Swedish filmmaker), Leslee Udwin (British filmmaker and human rights activist), Mijke de Jong (Dutch filmmaker), Jan Eilander (Dutch scriptwriter), Feng Yuan (Chinese feminist) and Guo Ruixiang (UN Women China).
