Synopsis
The theme focuses on a mother/daughter relationship. Vera, the mother (Marieta Severo) is an excombatant against Brazilian dictatorship, who's been exiled and lived in various countries. Tânia, the daughter (played by LauraCastro), is married for 15 years to another woman, who is pregnant with the couple’s first child. The film unfolds the relationship of these two women.
Director Biography
Maria de Medeiros. Portuguese actress, filmmaker and singer. Considered the best Portuguese film actress of her generation, she was nominated UNESCO Artist for Peace and awarded the “Official of Arts and Letters” in France. She performed classical works in the largest French national theaters, such as Odéon, Chaillot, La Colline. Alongside her acting career, she started making films very early, her first fiction feature, “Captains of April” was selected in Cannes, in the “Uncertain regard” section, winning several international awards, namely at Mostra de São Paulo. Maria has directed several short films and documentaries, including the award-winning “Repare bem”.
