DIRECTOR’S BIOGRAPHY

Tian-yi Yang born in 1972 in China. She graduated from the Art Academy of the People’s Liberation Army in 1995. She then danced and acted in numerous ballets, theater plays and feature films, including Jia Zhangke’s «Platform». Yang Lina started her work as an independent documentary filmmaker in 1997. Her first film, «Old man» was crictically acclaimed internationally. In 2013 she made her live action feature debut «Looking for the rain».

Journalist Guo lives together with her mother and daughter in the same residence. The relation of three generations looks placid but there is actually a fierce undercurrent of rebellion and resistance.
