A Guo Zhaxiyongzhuo (the founder of NIDUMA) in conversation with Zheng Yin Yin (former Business Director at Ogilvy)

Derived from the Tibetan word (སྙིང་སྡུག་མ།, in Latin NYHING DUG MA) that means “your beloved woman”, it can be interpreted as a image of an independent and self-reliant woman or an image of a strong, masculine and modest woman. In the rich cultural tradition of Tibet, it means “the liked one”; it also bears pessimistic and perfectionist overtones.

NIDUMA, abbreviated to NDM, stands for Nomadic, Develop, Mission. The mission of the NIDUMA project is to encourage the development of Tibetan farmers and herders, the beneficiary of the project. NIDUMA wants to make it possible for skilled and creative Tibetan woman (mothers, wives and unmarried women) to bring income to their families relying on their own skills. The project aims to facilitating the transmission of traditional Tibetan craft, at the same time it enhances women’s social role, helps increasing women’s social status and self-confidence, thus contributing both to the community and society. The making of Tibetan tea is revolution-like for Tibetan women; few men in Tibet possess these skills. A mother once proudly said, “I support my family by making Tibetan tea.”

A Guo Zhaxiyongzhuo, the founder of NIDUMA

A Guo Zhaxiyongzhuo was born in Yajiang county, Sichuan, in 2011 joined the non-profit sector, worked for three years in Limin Training School / Limin Association, Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Tibet, in 2014 founded NIDUMA Nomadic Development Cooperative, and in 2016 launched NIDUMA Tibetan tea project.

Yin Yin Zheng is Chief Marketing Officer at Beijing Minhai Medical and Health Industry Group; previously she worked at Ogilvy,Taiwan and Xiamen. Zheng Yin Yin has more than 10 years of experience in 4A Advertising Companies,is a recepient of 4A Creative Golden Seal Award, the highest advertising award in China, 4A Golden Seal Creative Award (PR Category), 4A Golden Seal Creative Award (Outdoor), China Effie Award, Silver Award.
