Guangzhou International Month of Culture 2022
Baturu Cultural Festival is delighted to present Guangzhou International Women’s Month of Culture. Scheduled to coincide with the celebration of International Women’s Day, the event aims at spreading awareness of gender equality and popularizing feminist ideas. It is organized by the joint efforts of the American, Australian, Canadian, Danish, German, Israelian and Swiss Consulates in Guangzhou. The event is curated by Baturu Cultural Festival (China Women’s Film Festival). The film program includes “50/50: The Documentary” presenting a comprehensive overview of the state of gender equality in various industries in Canada, a Danish war drama “Erna at War”, a story of a woman struggling to get a divorce in an Israelian film “Gett: The Trial of Viviane Amsalem”, an Australian biopic “I Am Woman” that uses music to speak up for equality, a Swiss comedy on women’s suffrage in Switzerland “The Divine Order” and short movies from Germany (“Handbook for a Privileged European Woman” by Alma Buddecke, “The Battle for our Voices” by Jennifer Mallmann) offering a variety of outlooks of female film directors of the new generation.
